Multimedia Journalist

My name is Marcella Baietto and I am currently attending the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. I am also an honors student at Barrett, The Honors College and on track to graduate with two degrees, a Bachelor and Masters in Journalism and Mass Communication in the Spring of 2020. I am a multimedia journalist who produces content on various outlets. I am also fluent in Spanish and familiarizing myself with reporting in both languages

I am currently an Anchor and Borderlands Reporter for Cronkite News which is part of the Arizona PBS affiliate. I anchor the Monday newscasts at 5 PM. At Cronkite News I have been focusing on covering the Hispanic community and immigration issues which has strengthened my skill in bilingual reporting. I also report in Spanish for Cronkite Noticias where my stories air on Univision Arizona.

IMG_2326.JPGI have interned most recently at NBC News in New York City as a Special News Intern where I focused on breaking news coverage. I was involved in the coverage of the midterm elections, the Kavanaugh hearings and the passing of George H.W. Bush. Previously I interned at the NBC affiliate in Phoenix, KPNX 12 News, as an investigative intern.

I also interned at The Arizona Republic as a Breaking News Intern and created multiple pieces of printed and digital content daily. Some of my content was even picked up by USA Today.

In the summer of 2017 I got the opportunity to intern at KTAR News 92.3 where I experienced the fast paced environment of a newsroom and learned what it takes to put on a live radio show every single day.

Through my whole time at ASU I’ve woIMG_2609.jpegrked at the State Press, ASU’s student-led digital newspaper, where I co-led the Video Desk as a full-time Video Editor where we created multiple news and sports packages a day.

On this page I will be posting my journalism work as well as different types of visual content. Enjoy.
